Oil Sands Tailings Conference 2008
The Oil Sands Tailings Research Facility (OSTRF) and the Canadian Oil Sands Network for Research and Development (CONRAD) are pleased to announce the First International Conference on Oil Sands Tailings to be held December 7-10 ,2008, in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada at the Mayfield Inn and Suites. Home Page Photo Contest
The OSTRF is conducting a contest to replace the current homepage photo. We will be accepting digital photographs or artistic drawings depicting oil sand tailings related images that represent the goals and objectives of the OSTRF. The successful candidate will receive free admission to the upcoming Oil Sands Tailings Conference. Please submit photos and images to nabeier@ualberta.ca . The goals and objectives of the OSTRF are as follows:
Carry out fundamental research on the segregation and dewatering behavior of oil sands tailings from bitumen separation to deposition and ultimately to restoration.
The facility will be used for innovative and novel research to develop the next generation of environmentally superior tailings disposal options.
OSTRF Student-Industry Interaction Days
The next interaction day is planned for September 25, 2008 at the Alberta Research Council Millwoods Facility.
